DESPERATE TO HELP DAD Warren Johnson
Northland
PLEASE HELP My father Warren is in hospital and to sick to fly home without a doctor with him or he has to have an operation in Thailand.
Warren lives in Thailand part of the year and comes home to NZ for medical check and to see whānau and friends once a year. There is no medical insurance he let it lapse.
We need to raise $15,000.00 NZD minimum to cover the costs of the operation to replace his defibrillator/pacemaker and then more for additional hospital costs in Hat yai district at Songklanagarind hospital in Thailand.
This is my father Warren Johnson
SURGERY and hospital costs as everything is user pays. It will contribute to the costs which grow daily in the hospital.
GETTING BETTER 14 October 2025
Thank you to all who have contributed. Dad is much better. He is recuperating at his home in Phang Nga, Thailand, after the operation, which was very successful. He still has a number of hospital visits requiring travel back to the hosptial in Hat Yai. His hosptial bill topped out at 400,000 Thai Baht which is equivalent of approx $20 000 which he will need to pay off.
We hope to see him come home to New Zealand in a month or two to check in with the New Zealand Health system and maybe stay.
