Alex is fighting for his recovery after a violent assault on the 15th of March where he sustained a very traumatic and serious head injury. He was immediately airlifted out to Wellington hospital to undergo urgent surgery to save his life. This was followed by a stay in ICU before he was able to be safely bought back to Nelson Hospital to continue his recovery. He's shown incredible strength, but the physical and emotional scars will take time to heal. We're reaching out to our community for support during this incredibly difficult time. Your generosity will ensure he has access to adequate rehabilitation to aid his recovery and allow our parents to focus on his care without the added burden of financial stress after having to close their business to support and care for Alex. Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference in Alex’s recovery.
Thank you for taking the time to read Alex’s story, and for any help you can offer. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and support.
Alex is my brother and Kaylene and Andy are my parents.
Funds raised will go towards Alex and our parents in order to provide general financial aid and towards any expenses that may pop up not covered under ACC/Public Health system
