Victoria’s dad survived war in Ukraine so his sudden death has been a devastating shock
Always helpful, kind and gentle, Victoria’s dad only wanted to get her mum and brother safely out of Ukraine when the war hit practically on top of them. Their harrowing journey was worth it when they were all finally united in New Zealand.
Then he was discovered to have prostate cancer that had spread to bone. A hip fracture followed and very shortly after he died suddenly in their arms of a pulmonary embolism.
His life was much too short but he protected his family and helped many others and those were his priorities in life.
Now Victoria’s mum and brother will need to start over in a new country without him. Any help at all even a little, would be very appreciated! They spent all their emergency funds helping her family flee war in Ukraine.
Victoria is my dear friend and always willing to help others.
Burial expenses and all that entails.

Thank you so much for the generous and overwhelming support of Victoria and her family. They were able to get her father's ashes and go with her family to scatter them at one of her father's favourite places he used to visit when he came to NZ. He is finally at peace and the family is relieved he does not have to suffer any longer. But now the challenge is keeping their little family together as Victoria's mum dreads the day she may have to return to Ukraine and a place that has no family or support or connection for her any longer. Victoria's parents and brother had already fled Crimea during the first Russian take over and this is the second time they have had to leave a home and business that is not likely to be there (at least not the way they left it) when they return. Please continue to support this family as they fight for the right to stay in New Zealand permanently. They want to continue to work and get on their feet and contribute to this beautiful country that has been so kind to them.
