Vinnie’s fight against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia

On Friday 1st June, the Bol family was given some devastating news. Vinnie has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).

Bay of Plenty

ALL is an incredibly aggressive blood cancer which affects the blood and bone marrow. It comes on quickly with excruciating pain. Vinnie’s treatment plan is currently underway and will be further refined next week. This type of Cancer is treatable and Vin has a 50% chance of being cured, to which he said “is good enough for me”. :-)

Over the coming months Vinnie will be staying and going through chemotherapy at Waikato Hospital and hopefully go into remission, which means he will be able to go home and travel for his chemotherapy.

Vinnie and his wife Chelsea have their beautiful 6 month old daughter, Meredith-Jean (MJ) and as a family have a tough few months ahead of them. They are determined to fight and if anyone can smash this, it’s Vin!

Thank you to all of the love and support you people have shown already, it puts a smile on our faces to know Vin is so loved.

These funds raised will directly benefit Vin, Chels and MJ to help with travel and accommodation costs while Vin is off work (yes he’s already talking about going back to work!) and when they get through the otherside of this they can take a well deserved family holiday together.

If you would like to visit Vin, please get in touch with us. I’m sure he would love to see you all.

Once again, thank you all for your love and support - it is more appreciated than you will ever know.

Love,

The Bol Family xx

Vinnie is my brother, this page has been set up to directly benefit the Bol family through the treatment of Vinnie’s cancer.

Use of funds

The funds will be used to pay for travel and accommodation costs as well as help with any unexpected expenses during Vinnie’s treatment. If surplus funds are raised this will allow Vin, Chels and MJ to go on a family holiday once treatment has finished.
