Virginia goes to Art School!

I have been accepted into the MFA in Studio: Performance program at SAIC [School of the Art Institute of Chicago] and will start in Fall 2023!

I am so stoked to pursue [more] postgraduate study, at this esteemed performance art program. I have been saving my dollars since my first interest in this course, back in December 2017.

The world is a chaotic place, and becoming an arts academic feels like the best, most whimsical, most ADHD, most amazing thing to do in 2023.

I call myself an explicit body live artist and have made a range of solo and ensemble performance works, from short performances to durational installations. My focus is to facilitate the telling of stories - mine and others - by building safe spaces to create intimate interdisciplinary performance.

I want to learn more about how to develop my arts practice, to keep striving, not necessarily for more or for better [that feels grossly neoliberal and capitalist] but to learn and keep making.
