You’re invited to read a book and drink tea to fundraise for ME on Sunday 18th May ☕️
Join us by setting aside an hour to read, drink your hot drink of choice, and eat something yummy, while donating the price you’d pay in a cafe to support people living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in NZ.
The Tea Party for M.E. is an annual international event that has raised over £140,000 ($300,000NZD) since 2013 for ME charities and research worldwide.
This year Books for Less is holding a virtual Lit-tea-rary Party, and the idea is simple: set aside an hour to read, eat and drink something tasty, and donate the price you’d pay in a cafe to our fundraising page.
You can join us anytime on Sunday 18th May, or choose a time before then - whatever suits you!
We want everyone with ME/CFS to see that they’re not alone or forgotten, so share what you’re reading online with the hashtags #bluesunday2025 , #litteararyteaparty and #booksforlessnz so others can join the virtual reading/tea party too.
At the end of the month, we’ll add the total raised through the Givealittle page from our tea party to our monthly fundraiser, and donate it to our chosen M.E. charity - Complex Chronic Illness Support (CCIS)
Taking a break isn’t easy, with or without chronic illness, so take an hour to rest, read and relax, while knowing that you’re supporting millions of people worldwide who are suffering with ME/CFS. Plus, who doesn’t love an excuse to read more?
Anne-Marie: As someone living with ME, I know how vital organisations like CCIS are to supporting people like me living with these life long conditions. My goal is to support them, while letting others with ME/CFS know that they are not alone or forgotten
At the end of the month, we’ll add the total raised through the Givealittle page from our tea party to our monthly fundraiser, and donate it to our chosen M.E. charity - CCIS as part of the Annual Blue Sunday Fundraiser
