Nepal Volunteer Project

Well hi there!

Thank you for clicking on the link and showing interest in my volunteer trip.

The money raised will go towards the costs involved in doing the programme including flights, accommodation, buying stationery, games and resources for the kids in Kathmandu.

But before all you kind hearted people rush off to make a donation, let me tell you a little about the programme I will be embarking on in November.

During the Nepal programme I will be participating in a number of different volunteer projects that are geared towards empowerment and building the social and education opportunities of the community.

The Woman’s Empowerment project will involve a variety of educational and development activities that form a large part of the growth of young women of the local community. Teaching young women basic English and computer skills as well as helping them develop their conversational skills will be a few of the activities that I will be involved in.

The Childcare and Orphanage placement will involve assisting the teachers with the daily schedules, teaching the children English and about basic hygiene, amongst other activities. The centre is the primary source of childcare for the lower socio-economic families, or for the children who were abandoned or orphaned.

Due to the earthquake that occurred in April, a lot is still needed to be done construction and clean up wise. Although it isn't outlined in the programme, if they do require extra help, I am hoping to assist with that also.
