Help us to become New Zealand's first ever University Futsal team at the World Futsal Champs in Brazil.
Wellington
After winning the National University Futsal Champs in April, we now have the extraordinary chance to represent New Zealand for the first time ever in the World Futsal Champs in Brazil in July.
As we are all students, money is obviously an issue, but with your generous help, we can achieve our goal.
For those that don't know, futsal is similar to indoor football, but it is played with a heavier ball and is extremely popular in South America. It is one of the fastest growing sports in New Zealand. In 2011, there were 5000 people involved in the sport, and by 2015, those numbers had soared to 55,000.
To get to Brazil, we need to fly, accommodate and feed 14 players and 4 staff members, but with your help, we can show the world how far futsal has come in New Zealand.
Any contribution you would like to make to this amazing opportunity would be gratefully received. Thank you!
Hi, my name is Finn Stenner Corbishley, and I am one of the players going to Brazil, having been involved in the Victoria University Futsal Club for the past few years.
