Funding required to purchase equipment for the Wainuiomata Volunteer Operational Support Unit

The Wainuiomata Volunteer Fire Brigade has one Operational Support vehicle, The crew respond to emergencies in Wainuiomata and the Hutt Valley. Calls range from road closures, motor vehicle accidents, flooding, medical calls, setting up helicopter landing sites to house fires, business and other major incidents providing scene safety, lighting, traffic control, salvage through to general welfare support for crews and other emergency responders as needed. The unit support urban fire, rural fire and other emergency services.
Equipment
We are fund raising to purchase more efficient and needed equipment such as LED lights to replace halogen and road signage as examples.
All members of the brigade are involved in raising funds.
Wainuiomata Volunteer Fire Brigade answers on average between 350 and 400 calls per year; the Operational Support vehicle (4426)responds to emergencies in Wainuiomata and can be called to"jobs" in the Hutt Valley region; events/calls including road closures, motor vehicle accidents, domestic and commercial flooding, weather related incidents, house and other structure fires providing traffic control, scene lighting, scene safety for other emergency responders and the public; salvage through to first aid and welfare support for crews and others on scene. We are raising funds to purchase new equipment to support the increasing range of calls attended
