Waipu Cycle Walkway- Waipu Cove to McLean Road!!
We need further financial donations to help to complete Stage 3.Northland
Our aim is a safe track to walk, jog or cycle between Waipu Village and beautiful Waipu Cove. Stage one is completed and is a very popular track from Waipu to Riverview Place. Stage two is underway from Waipu Cove to McLean Road. Special shout out and thank you for the generous easement from the Brown Family. Thank you also to the local businesses, fundraisers and donations to enable the awesome track that has been completed thus far.
This is a community project and requires our fundraising efforts and donations. Once you have donated you'll know you've done your best to ensure this fabulous asset is finished as quickly as possible.
Our vision is to create a safe cycleway/walkway in Waipu for the enjoyment of Waipu residents and visitors.
This is a staged project from Waipu Village to Waipu Cove.
Use of funds
All funds go directly to the project- metal, drainage, diggers and fencing. Any surplus funds head to the next stage.

Around 90 people turned out to help plant over 2,000 natives on the newest section of the Waipu cycleway.
It’s in the middle of the trail between McLean and Cullen Roads.
All ages and abilities and walkers/cyclists and community supporters were present.
It took 5 of us nearly 3 hours to set out the plants to a planned map on Saturday- and just over an hour for the community to plant them on Sunday. 😊
This section was made possible through the generous gifting of an easement over farm land where the main road has a difficult and dangerous road section.
The Awesome Paul Jenkins is giving the ground a chance to dry out before he can complete this stage. So NB - it's not finished yet!
PS - We observed level 2 Covid rules around tracing, wellness and distancing (as far as possible with a crowd of enthusiasts- some wore masks).
Fabulous guys, thank you very much for your support!
Awesome Zippys! Thank you
