Waipu Cycle Walkway- Waipu Cove to McLean Road!!
We need further financial donations to help to complete Stage 3.
Northland
Our aim is a safe track to walk, jog or cycle between Waipu Village and beautiful Waipu Cove. Stage one is completed and is a very popular track from Waipu to Riverview Place. Stage two is underway from Waipu Cove to McLean Road. Special shout out and thank you for the generous easement from the Brown Family. Thank you also to the local businesses, fundraisers and donations to enable the awesome track that has been completed thus far.
This is a community project and requires our fundraising efforts and donations. Once you have donated you'll know you've done your best to ensure this fabulous asset is finished as quickly as possible.
About us
Our vision is to create a safe trail for walkers and cyclists of all ages and abilities from Waipu to Waipu Cove for locals and visitors to experience our beautiful coastal scenery.
Use of funds
All funds go directly to the project- metal, drainage, diggers and fencing. Any surplus funds head to the next stage.

Dear Give a Little Contributors to the Waipu Cycle and Walkway. Thank you!!
As you'll know the walkway is all but finished from Waipu Cove to McLean Road. We are waiting for WDC to complete the bridge extension and our contractors to roll the top layer-both of which is happening January 2021. However, it is very usable and has been getting plenty of use!
The community planting in August was such a positive vibe. Special thanks to Dave and Deb Brown for the fabulous easement - the water features are great, Crombie and Mike for the fencing and Paul Jenkins and his crew for the contracting. We also secured some great grant funding as well your fabulous individual donations and support. THANK YOU
We are ready to move onto the next stage- Watch this space!
Once again, you've been awesome with your donations, and we trust you enjoy walking/riding the new stretch in and out of Waipu Cove. (Thats 6km return folks!)
