Wairarapa Youth Orchestra - Seeking help to cover our operating costs!
We need your help!
We have just successfully launched the Wairarapa Youth Orchestra with almost 50 children currently enrolled. We want to be able to grow these numbers and spread the joy of music-making to all the children of our community. This is a venture that intends to educate the youth of our district with the help of numerous high-class tutors from the NZSO and the Wairarapa, to encourage musical instrument learning and develop listening and teamwork skills through ensemble playing!
Many regions of New Zealand have long-standing Youth Orchestra's that inspire children to learn music; Auckland, Wellington, Palmerston North, Blenheim, Christchurch, and Dunedin, to name a few. The Wairarapa has not had a Youth Orchestra for over 15 years and we believe that it should, however, it comes with ongoing expenses that need to be met in order for it to remain a free service for all the children involved!
Unfortunately, this type of extracurricular education programme is not funded by the Ministry of Education, so we need your help to future proof the Wairarapa Youth Orchestra. Any donation is welcome and will allow us to continue to provide this wonderful new service to the children of the Wairarapa

Wairarapa Youth Orchestra - Seeking Support 30 June 2022
We are now fundraising to purchase two Timpani Drums for our orchestra! The timpani is a very important percussion instrument in an orchestra and we want to be able to have this fantastic instrument available to our very keen students. Two drums is going to cost us $5000 so very cent counts!
