Wairoa township and district has been significantly impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle. Flooding has destroyed homes, devastated our roads and cut off the community. This is the most catastrophic weather event Wairoa has experienced in living memory. Our main concern is looking after our people and their wellbeing, meeting immediate needs such as food, water and shelter. We also support the wider road to recovery, repairing roads and damaged infrastructure.
