Waituna West School is thinking of ways to raise money to help a Fijian school damaged by Cyclone Winston.
Manawatu / Whanganui
Our school Principal spent some time in Fiji in April looking at some of the damage caused by Cyclone Winston. He was able to meet some of the students and staff at Kubulau District school and identified what it was that he thought could be of use to them to help them get their school up and running again. He hopes that Waituna West, other Manawatu schools and Byond NZ can collectively help with cash and educational resources to assist the students and staff.

I am the Principal at Waituna West School. We do all sorts of cool things at our school, helping our students realise their potential and (hopefully) seeing how they may contribute to society. I was lucky enough to see for myself the damage inflicted by Cyclone Winston on Fiji and in particular Kubulau District School. I was able to share these experiences with my school, hence the idea of a "post cyclone" sleepover and a give a little page.
Waituna West is a small rural school 25 km from Feilding in the Manawatu -NZ. Amazing students, staff and community. Real country schooling.
