Wakatipu Rangers, International Jamborette in The Netherlands!

Brianna Ricketts (16), Zoe Baylis, (16) and one of their leaders, Pamela Rogers, are fundraising to travel to The Netherlands and attend The Marsna Jamborette, an International Girl Guide and Scout Camp, from the 29th July to the 9th August 2019.

Their journey started last year by applying to Girl Guiding NZ to attend the event as representatives of the NZ contingent. Three adults, Pamela and two leaders from other units, and only two teens, Brianna and Zoe have been accepted to attend and represent New Zealand.

The Wakatipu Rangers need to raise $5,500+ per person to cover entry fees, travel and accommodation costs. They started their fund-raising just before Christmas as soon as they had notification that their applications had been accepted. They have been gift wrapping outside the Warehouse for the week leading up to Christmas, they volunteered for the Queenstown Marathon and have been holding raffles. They have more fund-raising to come in the next few months, you will see them at many of the high profile outdoor events coming up in Queenstown, the Motatapu and Wanaka at the Epic.

Any shortfall not raised will be paid by their families.
