Walking for Victoria Falls Children's Fund
Raising funds for The Victoria Falls Childrens Trust which improves children's education in rural Zimbabwe.

I was once privileged to live in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and call it home. The majority of the children living in the area live with food insecurity and in poverty. The Victoria Falls Children's Trust is a local organization contributes supporting the community by providing school materials, educational programmes, and vocational skills training.
In this time of global uncertainty, aid organisations in the area are no longer getting funded. It is becoming more important that we try to do just a little bit to help where we can. For the 15th year running, the charity will hold a 125 kilometers from Victoria Falls to Msuna in Zimbabwe—to raise money for school fees and provisions for orphans and vulnerable children in Victoria Falls. Please join me in supporting the children of Victoria Falls by sponsoring my walk.

Past Volunteering 16 April 2025
As a young person I felt it was important to be apart of something bigger and contribute to the community as a whole. The picture you see here (of a very young Marie) was taken in 2004. This particular project was started under the name Children at Risk by Christ Church Mirdand South Africa. This project has grown from having about 50 children in a church hall on Saturday mornings, to the Love Trust organisation. They small project has grown into schools that give christian education to vulnerable children. Please see www.lovetrust.co.za
So many organisations in Africa are church, or locally/privately funded endevours as there is no social welfare systems.
I started volunteering when I was 13 at the SPCA and have never stopped getting involved. Many of these with different organisations. I appreciate that to be able to give my time is a luxury but it has so many rewards. I have been blessed to meet so many wonderful children, teachers, mentors, and big thinkers
