Wanaka House Fire Took Everything

2 days ago the beautiful house Simon and his partner Heike rented was totally destroyed in a fire. By the time the fire brigade arrived, it was an inferno. Thankfully, it happened while both were out.

We are very grateful that both are unharmed, even though they are understandably devastated and struggle. They've lost everything except the clothes they wore. The fire raged so badly, even their car in the driveway melted. It's hard to get one's head around what it means to lose everything they have worked for the last ten years. A friendly real estate person has found them a house to rent, at least they have a roof over their head.

Unfortunately, he hasn't got insurance. As his family, we're rallying around to help as much as we can. However, we also want to give others the opportunity to help too.
