Wayanad needs your help
Auckland
In the heart of Kerala’s enchanting Wayanad district, lush greenery and rolling hills paint a picture of serenity. But beneath this beauty, the recent landslide on 30th July has unleashed devastation. Homes that once stood strong are now buried under debris, and the vibrant community has been turned upside down.
Take, for instance, the story of Lakshmi, a 45-year-old mother of two. Her family’s modest home, nestled on the edge of a hill, was flattened overnight, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. “I woke up to the sound of roaring earth and found myself in a nightmare,” she recounts, tears in her eyes. Lakshmi’s family now sleeps in a temporary shelter, their belongings lost, their future uncertain.
But amidst the rubble, there is hope. Local volunteers and organizations have rallied to provide immediate relief—distributing food, water, and medical supplies. Yet, the scale of the disaster means that much more is needed.
This is where you come in. Your support can make a tangible difference. Donations will help us to build houses for some of the unfortunate. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps to restore hope and rebuild lives.
