Wayne Fowler Cancer Drug Treatment

For the past fifteen months Wayne has been battling Cancer of the Kidney which metastasised into bone cancer.

His life saving treatment drug Pazopanib (Votrient) is no longer working.

For Wayne to have any chance a future at all he now requires an Immuno Therapy Drug called Atezolizumab.

But despite it having a significantly better success rate than the only currently funded drug available for this particular cancer, Atezolizumab is not funded by Pharmac.

A team of specialists has been arguing for its use for several years now, but Pharmac have not seen fit to fund it.

In order to have the treatment, we need to fundraise to get it for him as the cost is $6,000 every 3 weeks. This includes the drug and treatment administering it.

Once the ceiling amount of $57,000 has been reached there is no further charge for the medication, but there are ongoing costs every three weeks for specialist and hospital.

Although we are not comfortable asking anyone for financial help, time & the system is not on our side. We have already had a lot of people express their wish to help, the best way anyone can is to contribute to help cover these costs.
