    * James has been taking Chemo & Radiotherapy during NZ lockdown. It's been difficult and uncertain times for all of us. They asked me to post this message.

We are feeling ridiculously blessed and somewhat overwhelmed. We have been gifted, though a Give A Little site that was initiated by the lovely Cote who has been helping us. This is made up of many different people that have chosen to think of us during this challenging time of our lives. It is no exaggeration to say that this is humbling in the extreme. We have been blown over by the support that each and every one of you have shown us and we could never begin to be able to thank you. We are touched by the variety of people, be it from family or friends, but also work customers and colleagues to mention a few. How can we begin to express just how much you mean? The bottom line is we never could. You are all the most precious people that anyone could have in their lives and we are so much better for having you in ours. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

All our love. Amy and James.

It's been a while since our last update but we can report that James started radio and chemo March 31st - some things just have to be done "the chop" (no, not THAT chop!) in preparation for it. Everybody has been so supportive, sending a lot of supportive messages, food, gifts, encouragement...- you're all bloody amazing - and they have not been able to keep up with them as James language is not up to communicating with everybody (but at least Amy is enjoying some peace and quiet).

"Love hearing from you all and will be in touch whenever we can, love James and Amy"

  • An update from James & Amy

Well the next stage of our adventure began yesterday.

In somewhat typical style because I seem to have this annoying habit of when I do a job going WAY over the top with it, I went straight to the top and I would appear to have stage 4 brain cancer - the highest level. Needless to say, that this news was a tad disappointing.

What I can tell everyone immediately is that ALL the advice is that this is survivable. And this is exactly what the plan is. I can honestly report that I feel strong and confident, and I’m ready and willing to do this.

I know that it is going to be a somewhat difficult process, but I’ve been known in the past for pushing the limit. So, what is just another endurance event?

I’m sure in the coming days, weeks and months I’ll have time spent time with you all. But I would like to say a thank you to all for all the love we have been getting. We truly have the most amazing family and friends and we are blessed to know you all.

    Much Love.

    Amy and James
