We are a group of concerned residents who oppose the development and expansion of a landfill site in Taylorville. We believe this poses environmental, health, and community risks, and are calling for a halt to further activity until these concerns are properly investigated and addressed.

Our aim is to ensure that the voices of local residents are heard, and that all necessary checks and balances are in place for any ongoing operations.

Funds raised will go towards:

Community consultation and expert advice

Independent environmental assessments

Legal support, if required, to ensure our concerns are formally represented

Runanga Village People Incorporated Society's involvement (page creator)

Runanga Village People supports our Taylorville neighbours. We willingly join the fight to protect their way of life and our district water supply plant

Use of funds

Legal and technical costs to engage with the West Coast Regional Council resource consent process. Resources and expenses to raise public awareness.

The West Coast is not a dumping ground!  15 July 2025

Taking a moment to thank everyone who has donated so far to our residents group. Resident Adrian, in collaboration with his lawyer, got his opposing submission in on time for Taylorville Resource Park’s latest resource consent application. All four ‘limited notification’ parties have now lodged their opposing submissions. We will keep you posted as that process comes to hearings.

In other news, the mobile billboard is out and about. Toot if you see it!
