Running the Arrowtown Backyard Ultra to support 12 year old Malachi achieve his dream of attending the West Ham Football Academy ⚽️

Dunedin, Otago

For 15 years, I have given to those in need in a small way. This includes running to raise money for organisations like St John, the Salvation Army, and the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust.

This Saturday November 8, my wife Lis and I will run the Arrowtown Backyard Ultra. This event finishes when there is 1 PERSON LEFT STANDING 😂 You can follow the event Live from 9am on Nov 8 at:

This time, we are raising money to help 12 year old Malachi Turner attend an 11-day training camp at the WEST HAM FOOTBALL ACADEMY in London in September 2026. Malachi was selected for this prestigious event when he was at a football camp on the Gold Coast. Malachi said "I learned so much from the camp and was given a badge by one of the Head Coaches for Good Play and Attitude".

The training camp at the West Ham Academy includes games, coaching, stadium tours, attending English Premier League games and heaps more!

Malachi says "I am beyond excited and I am so thankful to God for opening these doors!"

If you would.like to help Malachi achieve his dream, please donate using the link below. All donations, whether big or small, are very much appreciated!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
