Funds are needed to maintain the iconic Old Otane School building. Help us retain this community asset for the next generation.

The Otane Arts and Crafts Corner (OAC) is a society formed to provide the opportunity for members of the community to learn a range of crafts by sharing skills within a friendly and caring community. Our members are mainly retirees but we would love to see some younger members.
The society resides in the old Otane School building which is now over 100 years old. In 1970 the old school was to be demolished but a group of forward thinking residents saw an opportunity to create a centre for the development of various arts and crafts in the local community. The centre was officially opened on 1st September 1970. OACC (inc) now owns the building, on leased council land and we are responsible for the upkeep of this iconic building. Please help.
The integrity of the building needs to be maintained which means we need a new roof, repairs to sash windows and a complete exterior paint job! We have been quoted $60,000 to achieve this. We are applying for grants ($20,000 so far) and are holding fundraising ventures throughout the year, however we need your help to reach our goal. Every donation helps whether it's big or small so please donate now to preserve this precious community asset for the future.
The money is to be spent on a new roof, repair of windows and painting of the exterior by professional contractors. Any surplus funds would then be spent on interior maintenance such as the flooring and painting.
