Mum was doing well at home, completed her 2 weeks of IV Antibiotics at home which finished on Monday. We celebrated her 60th birthday on Thursday and she had a wonderful day!! Unfortunately we noticed the smell from the open wound was starting to return on Wednesday and yesterday it was quite bad so we contacted the amazing dr from Tauranga hospital who is looking after mum! We were back at the hospital today, more IV Antibiotics and continuous oral antibiotics as the infection has returned! Not great signs, fevers are back tonight so we are keeping a close eye on her…. We see the dr again on Thursday and hopefully we can start the chemo soon! Will post another update on Thursday!! Alieta is a true fighter, throughout it all she always smiles and laughs 😊 thank you again to everyone for your donations!!! Please share if you can!!

Mum is now at home with us and out of hospital for now. She came home on Saturday! The journey is just beginning, she currently has a PICC line which is allowing her to have IV antibiotics at home through an infusion bag which runs 24hrs. The district nurses come everyday to change the IV antibiotics and to change her wound dressing. We are still waiting for final test results and diagnosis. We are hoping to have the results and a plan on Thursday when we see her dr and team at the hispital. Alieta’s case is also being discussed on Wednesday at the multi disciplinary meeting as it is complicated! She is doing well, smiling and laughing through it all!! We got her down to the beach on Sunday which she loved!! Watching the grandkids play and soaking in some fresh air!!!
