We remember Kelly Hutton- Marian College Garden Seat

    Kia ora Koutou and a huge thank you to everyone again for their contributions towards the memorial garden seat for Kelly.

    We are finalizing the position of the seat and a way to secure it. Marian college as you know is planting and landscaping it's grounds. At the old Marian college site there was a beautiful Pin Oak tree. A new Pin Oak tree is to be planted on the same day as the seat reveal as part of the ceremony. We are inviting three current students who are the daughters of our class- Malia, Hannah and Briar to be part of the tree planting and reveal of the seat to carry on the legacy of friendship that we all value from our Marian years.

    We will make a donation to the Cancer Society of Canterbury later this month once the final costs have been settled, we anticipate the donation to be about $280.

    We have set a date for the unveiling for Monday 7 October at 5pm at Marian College.

  • Project Bench seat update

    Kia ora and once again thank you to everyone who has donated to the project to place a memorial park bench seat for Kelly at the new Marian College site.

    We have a seat on order and are finalizing the inscription. If you have any more ideas or thoughts please be in touch this weekend.

  • Huge thank you

    Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to this kaupapa. We are now planning the building of the garden seat and we have found a nice wee posy at the school to put it. It is under a large oak tree and looking out over the sports fields. We are still taking donations as any extra funds will go to the Cancer Society Community home in Papanui that Kelly was an ambassador for.

    A huge thank you for the amazing response for fundraising for the garden seat for Kelly. We hit our target very quickly! We have also offered any further donations to the Canterbury Cancer Care unit in Papanui. We look forward to keeping you all updated as we work towards making this happen.
