    We are super happy to report that we now have a purpose-built trailer :-) This is thanks to our generous community (you), Community Funds from the Whangarei District Council and the Lotteries Commission. We're really happy with the quality thanks to the team at Pinto Trailers and spent some time on Monday oooh-ing, aaaa-hing and visualising all its possible uses. The next step is to fit-out the interior for tools and gear and to have our branding wrapped around the exterior. We're looking forward to having this resource available to the community to encourage some more Weed Action!

  • Target Reached!!!

    Kia ora everyone,

    We did it, our community have donated the $3,500 target we set to fundraise for the trailer! A massive thank you to everyone who contributed. Plus a special thanks to Steve and Bev who made a second donation after already giving generously to get us across the line. We really appreciate the donations and the lovely messages of support which were super encouraging.

    The trailer will be a very welcome tool especially for our community working bees as we just hitch it on and go. Plus we envision residents that rally the neighbours for working bees being able to do the same thing. We have often gone as far as imagining a mobile weed control dispensary - kind of like Mr Whippy only with herbicide and power tools! The options are endless ;-)

    I have recently heard from Pinto Trailers and they are adding the final touches which are roof racks and it will be ready for pick up from Penrose Auckland. Seeing there will be an empty trailer going from Penrose to the Heads in the next few weeks, we would like to put the offer out there to you all to transport items that you may want.   • Nearly there...

    Great news, I received a phone call from Pinto Trailers and they are currently building the chassis of the trailer. Perhaps it may be built a little faster than the 4 months that was estimated.

    With the $2585 raised from this page to date we are now able to cover the remaining cost of the trailer build! Anything extra will be going towards the branding/wrapping so we look professional and can promote the organisation when cruising the main drag :-)

  • The Trailer Build Begins!

    Hi everyone,

    Pinto Trailers have been paid the deposit from the two grants we received and have begun to build our trailer. It's estimated to take approx. 4 months to be completed, enough time to fundraise the deficit. With the funds we've received from the community already, we are getting close to being able to cover the entire expense of the build happy days.

    Thank you so much for the support so far. We have noticed that the people who already volunteer for Weed Action have also donated funds for the trailer - or are people that already hit the weeds hard on their own properties, you're all gold!
