WE HEART TARANAKI

WE HEART TARANAKI is raising funds for the thousands of whanau/families affected each year by Heart Disease. It is our regions biggest killer, higher than any cancer. 41,000 people living in our region are at risk and you can double or triple the number affected by the disease if patients have to travel out of the region. You see, our current machine is too old and can no longer be serviced- think old dial up phone and I Phone 6- worlds apart! The technology is so old doctors cannot often diagnose or treat patients so up to 400 patients have to go to Waikato Hospital. BUT, if we have the technology here, in time we maybe able to reduce that number to our 40 most critical patients. That means less cost to families, less waiting time, less stress and better results for everyone in Taranaki. Guess what? The new machine can also save lives in other ways too- if someone has an accident and internal bleeding- doctors can see exactly where it is and stop it!
