To ease the financial burden for Wendy and her family so they can fund alternative treatments to help fight her cancer.
Auckland
On behalf of Wendy and her family, we are posting this “Give-A-Little” page, to relieve some of the financial burden Wendy’s family is experiencing at this time. A few months ago, Wendy was sadly diagnosed with kidney cancer. She has been through surgery (with complications), diagnosed with blood clots in her lungs (again, more complications). A further CT scan showed another tumor on her adrenal gland (which caused further complications), and also that the cancer had now spread into her lungs. Wendy has tried really hard to show an outward appearance of positiveness, but sadly her struggle is real. Wendy's oncologist has told Wendy that Chemotherapy will not work for her cancer, and so begins Wendy's search to find alternative therapies to improve her quality of life and give her the extra time she needs with her family. Like all cancer patients … it’s a ‘mind’ thing. Every part of you wants to remain positive for your family, never letting anyone see the real mental torment and anguish you are going through. Her family, friends, co-workers etc., we all want to help Wendy in every way that we can, but we cannot do the ‘pain and suffering’ for her. But, we can alleviate some of the mental pressure her and her family are going through at this time. That is why we are posting this “Give-A-Little” page. While she is recuperating in hospital and not able to work, her husband (Carlos) is also taking time off work to be a loving support to her. Her children are also making sacrifices to support their mum. Her eldest daughter, who is currently serving a mission in Peru, is also contemplating coming home from her mission early to be by her mother’s side. All of us would do exactly the same if it were our loved-one fighting for their life. This “Give-A-Little” page will help Wendy and her family, meet their financial obligations, as well as allow them to seek healthy alternative treatment.
Anyone who knows Wendy will tell you … she is an amazing woman. She works with elderly in a Rest Home and totally understands the real meaning of compassion. Now it’s our turn to reciprocate her self-less life.
We are good friends to Wendy and her family. I'm happy that we can help in a practical way, to ease the stress for her.
