William C. Daldy Preservation Society
Auckland
The Daldy needs to be skipped and surveyed this year to maintain her seaworthy status. While we are busy replacing the boiler insulation, we urgently need to raise $170,000 to have the ship slipped and the survey completed. This will enable us to clean the propellers and undertake hull maintenance and ensure that the William C. Daldy can return to service in Auckland once more.
The Tug William C Daldy Preservation Society is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of this unique heritage vessel. Built in 1935, maintaining one of the last operating steam tugs in the world costs over $100,000 a year, and we need your help!
Bring the ship into the slip so that the hull can be inspected and her certificate of seaworthiness maintained.
All funds raised will go towards the slipping and maintenance work needed.
