William C. Daldy Preservation Society
Auckland
The Daldy needs to be slipped and surveyed this year to maintain her seaworthy status. Thanks to volunteers and sponsors we've now done everything but have the ship out of the water, and her hull thickness verified. While she's out of the water we'll be cleaning and coating her massive propellers, and ensuring that the William C. Daldy can return to service in Auckland once more. We're still campaigning hard for sponsors and donors to help us reach our target — please consider helping us out with your donation.
The Tug William C Daldy Preservation Society is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of this unique heritage vessel. Built in 1935, maintaining one of the last operating steam tugs in the world costs over $100,000 a year, and we need your help!
Bring the ship into the slip so that the hull can be inspected and her certificate of seaworthiness maintained.
All funds raised will go towards the slipping and maintenance work needed.
Thank you for your support. Together we've saved this priceless heritage vessel.
