Whangarei Mosque Fundraising Appeal

With immense pleasure, we are writing this update to let you all know that we have reached our goal, Alhamdulillah. We will be completing the formalities for buying the property on 26 October, 2018, Insha'Allah.

Any amount that will be donated in surplus will be utilized for maintenance purposes, Insha'Allah. Jazzak Allah Khair for all your support.

The Muslim community in Whangarei in Northland, New Zealand need your help in raising funds to purchase a prayer space. The Northland Muslim Community Charitable Trust is a registered charitable trust in New Zealand under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957.

The fundraising is for a property that was being used as a prayer space and other Islamic social activities for past 9 years. Please note that this centre is the only prayer space from North Shore in Auckland up until the north tip of New Zealand (Cape Reinga). Masha'Allah the place has been serving the Muslim population in Northland and any travellers who travel north to visit Cape Reinga and surrounding regions. Recently, we were notified that the owner intends to sell this property and therefore an urgency has arisen to purchase the property. The property comes with 2 other rental units and it is envisioned that, in short run, these rental units will provide income to support expenses and maintenance of the property, and in the long run would pave the way to expand the prayer space, Insha'Allah.

(The current Islamic centre is at the rear unit of the property)

We seek your help in permanently establishing a center and support our community. The negotiated price for the property is 350,000 NZD and Alhamdulillah, we were able to raise 337,000 NZD (*updated: 10/October/2018*) of the required amount. We have already paid a deposit of 50,000 as part of the purchasing agreement with a final settlement date set for 20 December, 2018.
