I was hoping using this page would help boost the fundraising work that Pratibha is doing towards this project.

Here is a part of the email I was sent by Pratibha Chhiba:
My name is Pratibha, I'm on of the nurses working at the SCBU Hutt Hospital.
In order to successfully deliver good developmental care practice we need appropriate items such as positioning aids to provide safe support and posture for the small baby to the bigger sick baby. These include special snuggleup nests which provide the feeling of safety and containment, also some specially designed rolls (bendy bumpers) which can help with positioning (we currently roll up sheets to try to make nests and support rolls), also we would love to get some special gel cushions which which can be placed under the baby's head to cradle it and provide comfort and reduce head moulding - flattened side of head."
The products we are raising money to buy are from Philips Healthcare. The link below shows these products in use and give some great explanations on implementing Developmental Care on the SCBU.

21 years ago, I gave birth to twins, Liam and Finbar 29 June 1998. Finbar passed away in the SCBU unit of Lower Hutt Hospital on July 10th, 1998. the love and care there was simply amazing. Each year, I like to do something in honour of my son, and as this year is his 21st and a biggie, I approached the SCBU unit and asked what or how I could support them.
They are trying to fundraise $1500 just to purchase the minimum quantity of these developmental support aids.
Funds will be used to buy items such as positioning aids to provide safe support and posture for the small baby to the bigger sick baby. These include special snuggleup nests, some specially designed rolls (bendy bumpers) which can help with positioning, also we would love to get some special gel cushions which which can be placed under the baby's head to cradle it and provide comfort and reduce head moulding - flattened side of head. Any surplus will go to buying more Developmental Aids.
