It takes a village to raise a child, or in this case an incredible loving couple.

Christchurch, Canterbury

This is Miriama a single mum with 4 kids. She decided to start a new and better life for her and her children in Christchurch in March this year. She was starting a new job and a much happier life for her babies, she looked forward to exploring the south island and just enjoying life. Unfortunately less than 2 months after arriving miriama went to the hospital after not being able to hold her food down and saw a yellow tinge to her skin. After a number of days of tests she was given some extremely devastating news, she had been diagnosed with an extremely rear cancer called a large perihilar heterogeneous mass. The last reported case of this cancer was in Japan in 1987 and came with no cure and an extremely short life span, doctors only offering weeks at best. Miriama after getting past the devastating news turned her thoughts to where her 4 children will go, her closest friends of 15 years who she called brother and sister who had helped raise all 4 children told her there is no question and decided to take them all on. So sadly 12 weeks later Miriama lost her battle, whilst surrounded by her babies, whānau and loved ones on Monday June 20th 2022.

Now Justin and Yllana have increased there family by 4 children and are looking at needing a bigger house, bigger car, proper beds and just help these kids move forward with a life without their amazing mum. Any funds will be going to help give them the life there mum wanted them to have and accomplish the dreams she had for them.

Yllana and Justin are good friends of mine and I know there's not alot I can personally do for them to help but together we can.

Use of funds

Setting the kids up in a bigger home, will need a bigger car, bedroom furniture and beds, school costs, putting money towards the kids goals and dreams.

As a mum to 4 kids, my heart breaks to read this. Sending so much love to you all and especially Justin and Yllana. I am paying forward the amazing kindness I have received from Owen Franks who auctioned his All Blacks jersey and the two nurses Sam and Jess who bought it for my cause as I battle lymphoma. From one mum to another, I'm carrying on this kindness. Sending massive love, positive vibes and strength. Much love, Missy! xx
