When it Rains.. It Pours

Anyone who knows my mum, Angela, would know that she is an incredibly selfless person. She has and would always give the shirt off her own back. Her name derives from "Angel" and I wholeheartedly believe she is just that. She has always given without a second thought and she NEVER asks for help.

My family's home was built in the early 1980’s and the pipes of that era used were Dux piping. A few years later they stopped using this type, as they were faulty and burst easily.

In the last few years Mum has had over 12 leaks. The worst of them being in the last few months. Ceilings have crashed down. Bedrooms have been flooded. The hot water cylinder in the laundry doesn't go. Her toilet hasn’t had water for over 6 months, but in her optimism she has told me "The house is large and luckily we have two other toilets to use". However, some days the house has had no water at all while they wait for a Plumber. Currently she 7 jobs that have been temporarily patched up. There are holes in walls all over the house. The plumber has put a pressure valve in but, this has not alleviated the leaks.

She now has to replace every plumbing pipe and fitting in her home. That alone will be $10k down the drain (excuse the pun). Not including the additional costs of repairing the holes and walls. Gib board, plastering, painting, etc.

In my life, Mum has fed, loved and put a roof over more people's heads than I could count..

I want to make sure that roof is safe and isn't collapsing due to leaks
