Help the Maireroa’s beat cancer and survive
Avondale, Christchurch
On the 4th of December, Oriana’s husband Michael was diagnosed with a very rare form of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and fighting with everything he has. Sadly, treatment has meant Michael has had to stop working. As the main income earner for their family, this sudden loss of income has been devastating.
While they are receiving some support, WINZ is unfortunately unable to cover all of their ongoing expenses. Medical costs, daily living expenses, and the realities of supporting a family continue to add up quickly. Oriana is unable to return to work as their daughter has epilepsy and requires ongoing care and close supervision, making paid employment simply not possible right now.
Right now, their focus needs to be on Michael’s recovery and keeping life as stable and safe as possible for their children, not on how they are going to pay the next bill.
This is why I’m asking for help. Any donation, no matter how small, will help relieve some of the financial pressure they are under and give them the breathing room they desperately need during this time. Your support will go directly toward covering essential living costs so they can focus on what truly matters: Michael’s health and their family’s wellbeing.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, for sharing if you can, and for any kindness you’re able to show. Every bit of support means more than words can say.
