Please help this homeless cat. Whingey is in desperate need of a dental to remove 3 teeth that have been fractured.
Auckland
Whingey Boi turned up on my doorstep starving, full of skin disease, with fight wounds and a nasty bite to his leg. I had been watching him prowl the neighbourhood over the months prior - howling the streets down, looking for a female and a feed. He stood out with his bright ginger coat, the fact that he looked so mangy, plus he just didn't stop talking!
When Whingey figured out I was leaving food out for him, he began turning up regularly. It didn't take too long before I had trapped him, neutered him, and had him recovering in the bathroom.
Whingey is now neutered, wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, microchipped and had antibiotics to treat his wounds. He has been diagnosed with FIV - a virus that suppresses the immune system. He is on premium food to support his skin and digestive system. He can't stay with me, so I must fix him up and find him a loving home.
Whingey is in desperate need of a dental to remove 3 or 4 teeth that have been fractured. The fractured teeth are causing him pain, inflammation and infection. Who knows how long it has been or what kind of impact he sustained to cause the trauma. The cost of his dental surgery is upward of $1500 He also has very sensitive and itchy/scabby skin. The bacteria from the mouth will be having a negative impact on his skin.
He is the cutest, most funny and smoochy boy! A real character of a cat. He is talkative and needy, and follows you everywhere. He just wants to sit with you and give you smooches. You can see he has mouth pain by the way he licks his lips, chatters and curls his top lip all the time.
It is really important to fix his mouth, as inflammation and infection will be adding to the stress on his already fragile immune system.
I have always fostered/rescued/rehabbed. This is the first time I am asking for help, but I really can't do it alone this time, and he shouldn't endure the pain any longer. He is a real sweet cat, and has lived it rough.
Here is a blog, written when he first arrived:

Please lets show Whingey some love, and give him a fresh start to a new life! (Please also help me find him a home! Any interest, please contact me.)
All proceeds will go towards Whingey Boi's health care - starting with his expensive dental surgery.
An update on Mr Whinge! 17 February 2022
Thank you so much to all of you that have supported Whingey Boy. It helps so much. I couldn't do this without you.
A wee update to let you know that Mr Whinge had his pre-dental surgery consult yesterday with Dr Tucker, the Veterinary Dental Surgeon at Kohimarama Veterinary Clinic. Whingey also had a pre anaesthetic blood panel run to check his health status before undergoing an anaesthetic.
His bloods are good. He has a couple of elevated enzymes, but these are likely due to his skin inflammation and nothing too concerning. His skin is doing well and is expected to continue to improve.
He is on a course of antibiotics for his teeth and gum infection. He will be having four teeth out in total. 1 full tooth, 1 that has broken about halfway down the tooth, and two that have broken off at the root and left exposed root.
I have attached a little video that shows a couple of the teeth, and Whingey Boy hanging out at his foster home with his buddies!
I will continue to update you. He is looking for his loving home. He doesn't leave my side when I am home and is so affectionate. He will be the perfect cat for someone one day. Please share if you know anybody looking!
Sincerest thanks,
Bronwen
