Help us represent New Zealand at the 2018 World Road Crash Rescue Challenge in South Africa

Waikato

The Whitianga Volunteer Fire Brigade has a 6 person Road Crash Rescue Team, this team competes at Road Crash Rescue Challenges within New Zealand and also Australasia.

As winners of this year’s Australasian Road Rescue Organisation Challenge, we have the opportunity to represent New Zealand and Australasia at the 2018 World Rescue Challenge to be held in Cape Town, South Africa.

Our Road Crash Rescue Team has been competing since 1999 some 18 years and have had success in winning our area Bay-Waikato challenge in 2005, winning the Auckland Provincial challenge in 2007, 2013 and 2015, they have been placed 2nd at the New Zealand national’s from 2001 through to 2010, coming 3rd in 2012 and 2014, and placing 4th in 2016. The team has also competed at the Australasian Road Rescue Organisation Challenges, comprising teams from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong every year since 2003, never being placed outside of the top 12 in this competition.

Attending these challenges is a huge learning experience not only for the team but for the rest for the Whitianga brigade as the team pass on all the knowledge and skills they have learnt from other teams from other countries which in turn is beneficial to the community of Whitianga and surrounding areas if by chance they have a vehicle accident.

All donations over $500 we will happily include your companies logo on both our team overalls and other team gear which will be on display on a global platform.
