Two teachers are taking on their own challenge to support Wainuiomata High School's 2016 Stage Challenge entry "A Wasteful Legacy"
Wellington
After being entered in the competition for three years, last year Wainuiomata High School's wildest dreams came true as we were awarded 2nd place for our Stage Challenge performance on Poverty in New Zealand. The best part about this was that it meant the judges and audience heard what we had to say and were touched my our message.
Through our entry this year, "A Wasteful Legacy" we hoping to open New Zealand's eyes to the silent yet steady destruction of our rivers. And we are aiming even higher than last year! This will not only take courage and great determination but also much more funds than we have available.
To help us, two of our teachers, Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Bell, are taking on their own challenge by participating in the Wellington Marathon to show us just what you can do when you set your mind to it and to help us fundraise for the dreams we have for this years entry.
Please sponsor them for their Marathon run and Half Marathon walk respectively and in turn help us get that much closer to performing an award winning Stage Challenge and highlighting our concerns for our rivers to our Nation.
Myself and Mrs Bell have been helping with Stage Challenge at Wainuiomata High School for the past four years. We have seen the amazing opportunity it gives our students to have a voice on issues that concern them and how it grows them in their confidence and leadership skills. The students involved come out with unbreakable bonds throughout the year levels and the experience gives the community something to come together for and to be proud of.
