We are opposing the renewal of the alcohol licence 'Thirsty Liquor Wickman Way' in Mangere East and are asking for funds for appeals.

Auckland

Community objectors are opposing the renewal of the alcohol licence for the bottle store 'Thirsty Liquor Wickman Way' in Mangere East.

The bottle store is located across the road from Southern Cross Campus and Te Kura Māori o Ngā Tapuwae, some of the largest schools in South Auckland.

Concerns have also focused on the vulnerable community in which the bottle store is located, the current high levels of alcohol-related harm, breaches of an undertaking, past sales of alcohol to minors, school students sitting on the stairs inside the premises and the ugly bright orange signage.

We are asking for funds to help with the costs of appealing the renewal to the Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority.
