Fundraiser for Will

Whakatane, Bay Of Plenty

After a year of thinking his back, neck and arm pain was just a run of the mill injury not responding to standard treatment and rehabilitation - ultrasounds, MRI and blood tests have incidentally revealed innumerable bone lesions throughout Wills' skeletal system, indicating some form of bone/blood cancer.

Throughout the year Will has carried on, despite the pain and lethargy. Will is the best dad to his gorgeous daughter and devoted husband to Jess. In March he signed up with a community organization to support our Tamariki in need. Despite not feeling well he always wants to help.

Will and Jess even took on five abandoned puppies throughout the year and nursed them all back to health.

In December 2024, Will had to stop work as a builder because his pain became unbearable. Adding a significant amount of financial pressure. The future at present, looks uncertain. One thing we do know is that Will is strong, brave and fiercely determined. He also has a whole lot of people rallying for him and his family.

We are asking for donations to ease the financial strain on this wonderful, loving family.

A Personal Update  29 August 2025

Posted by: William Keoghan

After a long and challenging journey, we finally have a confirmed diagnosis: Sarcoidosis. While this condition typically affects the lungs, heart, and eyes, in my case it has taken a rare and aggressive form—primarily damaging my bones. Unfortunately, this has brought an end to my building career, as the physical demands and risks are no longer safe for me to manage.

Moving forward, pain management will be a long-term part of life, and the treatments for Sarcoidosis come with their own difficult side effects. Due to the delay in diagnosis and the progression of the disease, my long-term outlook remains uncertain.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received so far—your kindness has meant the world during an incredibly tough time. Any continued support or encouragement as we navigate this next chapter is deeply appreciated.

With heartfelt thanks,

The Keoghan's
