I Want To Walk

Waiuku, Auckland

Thank you for taking the time to look and hear my story . I am not a person who ask for help let alone money .

Apon arrival at the hospital at Middlemore Auckland that’s where the extend of my injuries became known. I have been told I have broken my T10-T12 and crushed my spinal cord . After the surgery to mend my back, 10 screws were implanted . I currently have no sensation of anything below my hips/bellybutton.

I Want to walk again .

I know everyday I wake up I am trying to push to move even my little toe. I am setting goals everyday. My next one has to be setting up my life up so I can get back to my tractor. As I've now completed my first lot of goals I'll be heading home for my next mission in life to continue recovery and get back to life before the accident. My big goal is this and the help of funding this program could see me progress even further. The kindness I've received this far, who've had the ability to donate has been huge and appreciated

Recovery is going to be a long and hard and I won’t be giving up. There is a program not funded by acc which will give me the best hope to walk again. Please know anything you can give every dollar will not only support me but this long rehabilitation and potential to walk again❤️❤️

Use of funds

A non Funded program to help me walk again. A car to travel to my treatment after I leave the spinal unit

Recovery Update  30 October 2022

Hey Everyone, thanks for the support you've given this far. I just wanted to pop in to put a quick update on my progress so far.

I have 3 weeks to go in spinal rehab and I'm looking forward to going home. Still no sensation in anything below my hips and belly button apart from the odd little spots just below my belly button. Although there's been no change this far I'm not giving up and probably never will with walking. This means 3 weeks closer to going home and sorting this program that possibly would help me walk again and that's exciting for me.

I'm flying through my recovery here at spinal rehab becoming more and more independent each week although my arms for now are my new legs. I get the odd shocks down my legs which isn't great or isn't bad. Everything so far has been a huge journey and learning curve. One thing I can now say to anyone I meet is don't take anything you do in life for granted. Live you're life to the fullest but stay safe doing so.

Appreciate everyone who's messaged, rung, donated, visited. It all means the absolute worlds to me and the journey I'm on. Thankful for everything I have.
