This page has been created to support William and his family through this challenging time and his fight with Lymphoma.
Wellington
Sporty, fun loving William Lemmon was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer after discovering a lump on his neck in August 2018.
The lump was removed by surgery with the hope that he would avoid having to go through chemo, but unfortunately in the upcoming months, further lumps were discovered which meant 3 months of chemo treatment. Thankfully the treatment could all be done at Wellington hospital (The Lemmon's reside in Waikanae) which meant Mars and Dave could juggle William’s treatment and their day to day activities with their other 3 children Sophia, Sam, and Gaby.
William remained very brave over this time & on February 22, Mars and Dave received the news from the oncologist to say that the PET scan results had shown that William was all clear! Family, friends and most importantly William were over the moon and were looking forward to a life without cancer.
Devastatingly, in early May another lump was found.
A couple of days before William turned 13, cancer was confirmed and sadly, has moved up a stage. This has meant an immediate trip to Christchurch for surgery with a more intensive treatment plan. (which will be over a 6-month period requiring regular trips to Christchurch)
The start of chemo has been tough for William who has been struggling with high fevers & nausea.
Being the brave young man he is, he remains positive and in good spirits as he continues this journey to fight cancer.
We have Known Mars for over 35 years. All of her (And Dave's) friends and family are just wanting to help them in whatever way we can
Funds raised will be used to cover day to day expenses, for Dave, Mars, William, Sophia, Sam and Gaby.
