Help Leanne attend speaking engagement in Perth

I have the extreme honour of being invited to speak at the upcoming WAFA conference in Perth, Australia at the end of August 2025. This is an important event where women in firefighting come together to discuss issues and topics that affect their work life every day. I will be speaking about physical employment standards, providing legal and historical context to this system. WAFA has recognised the value in my research and as such, has invited me to speak to their many attendees - getting this important information and research to a wider audience. As a solo parent, I cannot leave my son in NZ while I go, and this development opportunity is too good to pass up, so he must come with me. The travel and accomodation costs are high, and I would appreciate any amount to help us get there. (WAFA is co-located with AFAC.)
Use of funds
It will be used to help support travel and accomodation costs.

After encouragement from amazing friends, I have updated my fundraising goal. While ideally my organization would have supported my attendance, the fact remains that this is an important topic, potentially positively impacting many women who wish to join the fire service, with a far-reaching audience at this conference. I see my message and attendance as greater than just what it means to me personally.
