• Provide a safe place to go to if you need help urgently

• Help you stand up for your needs whether or not you are thinking about leaving.

Women's Refuge is near to my heart because at least 74,785 children and young people aged under 17 were present at domestic violence situations attended by police, and I was one of those children.

One in three women experience psychological or physical abuse from their partners in their lifetime. Despite the fact that police are called to around 200 domestic violence situations a day (that’s one every seven minutes on average) they estimate only 18% of domestic violence incidents are reported.

I have chosen to be affiliated with Women's Refuge as my chosen charity for the Miss Auckland pageant.

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform.
