My road to recovery as a double amputee electrical burns survivor

Nationwide

My name is Jahden Nelson and I was involved in a workplace accident back in April where I subsequently lost both my arms and could have potentially been my life. I have undergone many surgeries in the 3 months I have now spent in the hospital and I am now awaiting my final operation. My road to recovery is long & what lies ahead remains unknown. I have set up this page to continue the fundraising efforts already made which I hope will contribute to a home for me and my family or opportunity to invest in advanced prosthetic technology.

My last operation And the road ahead  20 August 2022

Hey everyone, it’s Jahden here. I’m updating you all on my journey so far and how everything has been going. So on the 16th of August, Tuesday, I would like to let you know that one of my biggest achievements since I’ve been in hospital and endured plenty of times has finally come to an end, and that was my very last operation. It’s a massive step achieved after countless hours of operations and surgeries , and I couldn’t be any happier to seal that chapter and be one step closer to my goal, which is being home with my family.

My progress with physiotherapy and rehabilitation training has improved drastically I’ve been doing a lot of strengthening training in my lower limbs lately, which can be very challenging at times, but I'm pushing myself far beyond what the physiotherapists expect, and they love the confidence and drive I have to give everything my all while still taking every session of physio with a safe and slow approach. I’ve still got a long way to go, but till then I’m ready to tackle the challenges that lie ahead. For everyone that has shown support, thank you all. It’s much appreciated
