  • Jahden’s Recovery from ICU to NBU

      25 May 2022

    Hey everyone 💛

It’s been a little while. Jahden has had graphing surgery recently & is now mostly closed & covered with his own skin, he is awake, he is coherent, he is responsive. He no longer requires help with his breathing, he no longer requires the help of dialysis, his kidneys have regenerated it’s a miracle! He’s drinking lots & he’s able to eat his usual diet when he’s ready, but with his feeding tubes still intact he finds it hard. 37 days in hospital today, 24 surgery’s to date.

He has been out of ICU & in the National Burns Unit for 11 days today & has had multiple tubes & bandages removed from his body & is having physio daily when he is not in theatre, he is doing amazingly well & we are all so happy he has come thus far so quickly. He is our living miracle!

We want to thank you all who’ve supported him & his family especially his children during these first few weeks, all the prayers, messages, well wishes & koha, all the help & support, we cannot thank you all enough!

  • Jahden sees his Kids 💛

      11 May 2022

After a long 3 weeks we were approved Sunday for my son to see his 3 babies for the first time since the morning he had left for work & didn’t return. My beautiful eldest moko was so happy to see her Dad! “Dad, dad, daddy” she yelled & our quiet little boys all finally reunited. My mokos were all so happy to see & be with there Dad again. In there eyes there is nothing different about there Dad they’re just wanting there Dad home.

  • Moving Forward

      4 May 2022

    Hi everyone,

Jahden has been extubated for just over 24 hours & is now awake & responsive while using nasal prongs to help ease the pressure of using his lungs on his own while he is still being taken to theatre. We hope soon we will begin the focus of his recovery & theatre trips will be massively reduced.

Thank you all who’ve donated through out this journey, we appreciate you all

  • My heartbreaking decision

      27 April 2022

Over the past 2 days I've had to make the difficult decision to allow my son a fighting chance to continue to be with us today. My son has had both his arms amputated. Each day is critical & to keep his risk of infection minimal he has been having 5-14hr operations daily.

I'm not losing hope if anything I'm praying that I walk my son out of hospital alive so he can be reunited with his 3 babies. I know as a mum it's taking a toll on his body & I pray to God we get too wake up to him smiling & telling us to do the dishes and clean up.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all donators that have supported this kaupapa so far, thank you! The worksite is currently under investigation & while we are pending a report & outcome we hope for a review of health & safety protocols so this doesn't happen again .

    Thank you all.
