World Mountain Running Championships 2023

Kia ora folks,

Well. I'll start by saying that It's not an easy thing asking for financial support, but nothing ventured, nothing gained right!

Here’s how the story goes. (Short 1500 character version)

Fast forward to March 2023, in one hell of a foot race I managed to win the NZ Mountain Running title. This achievement gave me automatic qualification to be part of Team NZ at the World Champs, in Austria.

Unfortunately in NZ, there is no funding for any of the athletes who earn selection. Initially I decided that I wouldn't go, given our current financial situation. However, over the last couple of weeks I’ve had many influential people reach out to me and let me know that I would be silly to let this opportunity slip by.

I'm currently brainstorming ideas to fund raise, only have approx 8 weeks to work with.

Any money raised will help with the estimated total trip cost of $7000. This will cover Flights, internal travel & accommodation and yes even our team NZ kit.
