World Records to be set by CMR Kiwi Can do Team in Bolivia

Kiwis in Bolivia for over 6 weeks need to raise $$$$ to finish the job and bring the records home!

Auckland

After six years of Kiwi design, engineering, innovation and ingenuity, Reg Cook and his volunteer CMR Team have been in Bolivia since 6th September preparing to race four race cars and set new seemingly impossible Landspeed records.

(Test run in Nissan Coupe "Cookie" unofficially broke a current LSR record 18 October!)

Originally due to race 4-10 Sept the event has had to be cancelled three times due to weeks of adversity, constant delays, supply issues and the challenges of trying to run an event in a developing country. (Uyuni Salt Lake is only place long enough to race a streamliner at 500mph)

The Good news is base camp is now set up, all four Cars are now tuned, prepared, and ready to go - and we now have a new date (Mid November) for the FIA Event to finally proceed.

BUT we now have financial blow out. (100% funded personally by Reg till now and well is not just dry it has no more water supply!)

Need to raise USD$150,000 to meet funding shortfalls and get home.

It's a wrap!  5 December 2025

On a personal note, thank you from the bottom of my heart for so willingly supporting my plea to raise funds to help Reg meet over USD$100k of unexpected costs. The page will close tomorrow and you have my heartfelt thanks.

A message REG himself:

It's great to be home after 2 ½ Months Drama of Delays / Extreme Highs & Lows and as Expected KIWI CAN DO Resilience & Engineering was the HISTORY making WINNER. We didn't meet all our goals but despite everything thrown at us we still made history.

'COOKIE' ---------------- Set New FIA 2 Litre N/A LSR record of 184 Mph

MINI / ISSIGONIS --- Original 1959 Shell. 998cc / Fastest Mini in the World 172 Mph

WAIRUA 1 ------------- Breaking FIA Record on 1st test run on low power went 316 Mph Breaking FIA on a record of 254 Mph

WAIRUA 2 ------------ 1st Initial Test run Showed Amazing Aero potential on VVVV low power 500 Kph 310 Mph

No other streamliner has showed this kind of potential on 1st Run.

2nd & final test run with 40 % power showed design of F W D design will work in the future.

SADLY – Due to safety issues no more time for runs to Chase 500 Mph.

The TEAM proved beyond doubt that everything & anything is possible when

KIWI CAN DO / No 8 wire Mentality / Never Give Up mentality / Raw Passion / Team Work PREVAIL’S.

Thank you for your financial support. Every single dollar is gratefully received and appreciated.

It seems we have unfinished business.......
