More than 50,000 houses are either fully or partially damaged by the floods and landslides witnessed across the state

Starting from 8th of August 2018, severe flooding affected the Indian state of Kerala due to unusually high rainfall during the monsoon season. It was the worst flooding in Kerala in nearly a century. Over 373 people died within a fortnight, while at least 280,679 people were evacuated, thousands of people have lost their property and belongings, nearly million people are stranded in relief camps. All 14 districts of the state were placed on high alert. According to the Kerala government, one-sixth of the total population of Kerala had been directly affected by the floods and related incidents. The Union government had declared it a Level 3 Calamity or 'Calamity of a severe nature. Property damage worth approximately Rs/- 19,500 crores which is USD 3 Billion.
Many organisations, public and private individuals are contributing their share of assistance and it is time for us to join hands and provide our share of assistance through NZTA.
This was discussed in our meeting on 21 Aug 2018 and our advisory committee members Mr Jagan Mohan Goud has kick-started the fund with $1000 donation, followed by Mr Govardhan Mallela with another $1000.
We request you all to join hands with us and show our magnanimity in this difficult time. Your donations will make difference to those families who have lost their lives and homes. All proceeds will go towards Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
