A NZ film crew are working on producing a short war drama within Waikato region in early February 2020 and need $3,500 to make it possible!

Auckland

'Worthy of Thee' - a short war drama set in 1940, following the story of a doting mother and relentless father (Mr. & Mrs. Walker) held in suspense by news about their son Peter; a soldier in the New Zealand Army fighting the Battle of Crete | World War II. Mr Walker’s unrealistic

expectations of manhood and courage impede on Mrs Walker's actions to bring their son's best friend home from the War, after hundreds of NZ troops are forced to evacuate. The consequences of Mr. Walker's shallow pride proves no avail, as an unexpected twist leave the Walkers shell shocked.

Coffee Bean Productions wish to produce the 'Worthy of Thee' short film, from script to screen in February 2020. The script is written and finalised, majority of our Crew & Cast are confirmed, our locations have been scouted and we're looking for YOUR support to raise the budget we need to shoot this film!

The main reasons we consider this film important to shoot, edit and then release in 2020:

-It has been over 100 years since the Gallipoli War

-The themes to be expressed in the film provide awareness around male mental health, and pay homage to veterans of WWII who suffered PTSD and other mental distress from fighting in the War

'Worthy of Thee' will target the 35+ NZ age demographic taking a closer look into the dynamics of harsh expectations, and the different ramifications of strict parenthood passing down the generations. Using the 1940's country house rural farm setting, our Team envision the film to divulge the importance of wellbeing and increased discussion around mental health among males of all generations and backgrounds.

The film will be shot within 2x Locations: The main 'Farm house' near Cambridge and around the lakeside and rolling meadows near Tokoroa, Waikato. Our film crew are currently in planning phase, but have locked in our shoot from 5 - 8th February. We need to raise $3,500 to make this film concept a reality and bring this story 'to life!'

Our Lead Female (Mrs. Walker) will be Vanessa Riddell, previously starred in West of Eden & Broken Hallelujah. We're very blessed to have a dedicated Crew already 'foaming at the mouth' to help suss out preparation for the film shoot and edit!

Use of funds

All donations will go toward paying Crew members each a koha fee for their hard work and cover some production costs necessary to producing a war period script.
