The Wounded Gazelles are back for their 8th (!) year frolicking around the bays, this time in support of People Against Prisons Aotearoa.
Wellington
The Wounded Gazelles were born out of an afternoon at Golding's in late 2013. Tim and Jess thought it might be fun to sign up for Round The Bays, but when they realised that would entail actually training and running, they decided to procrastinate by organising a team to fundraise for a good cause. When race day came around, we had a brilliant logo (thanks Pinky Fang! https://pinkyfang.co.nz), matching t-shirts, a nice chunk of money to donate, and a combined total of like 10 hours of training amongst a team of 20.
Eight years on, Round the Bays remains the most sporting thing most of us do all year, but maybe the real prize is the friends we made along the way?
If you want to join the team or just cheer us on, you can get your own Gazelle swag here: https://woundedgazelles.printmighty.co.nz.
