Started 7 years ago

Our mission is to support excellence in New Zealand writing including the development of young, emerging and established writers.

Nationwide

The Michael King Writers Centre is a charitable trust and was established in 2004 to realise historian Michael King's dream of providing a residential retreat for New Zealand writers to have time and funds to work on a major project. The centre is based in the historic Signalman's House on Takuranga Maunga (Mt Victoria) in Devonport, Auckland. Our mission is to support excellence in New Zealand writing including the development of writers ( established, emerging and school aged)

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
